Activities for Visually Impaired People in Enfield
We are pleased to report that Enfield Vision has been successful in receiving a grant of £20,000 for its project "Activities for the Visually Impaired People in Enfield". This project will run for 24 months from 1st July 2026 to 30th June 2028 and includes the activities outlined here.
- A monthly Drop‑in Morning on the third Thursday between the hours of 10.00 am to 1.00 pm for visually impaired people resident in the London Borough of Enfield, delivered at Community House 311 Fore Street, Edmonton, N9 0PZ for a period of 24 months from 1st July 2026 to 30th June 2028.
- The monthly Drop‑in will offer free reflexology exercises to the visually impaired people to keep them fit and healthy. The project, supervised by Enfield Vision's management, will be open to visually impaired adults of all ages, genders and ethnic backgrounds, assisted by sessional workers and volunteers. The visually impaired people attending the Drop‑in Mornings will be offered tea, coffee and light refreshments.
- A Rehab Worker from London Borough of Enfield Sensory Impairment Team is in agreement to attend the Drop‑in Mornings for urgent response to the visually impaired people's queries and further assessment.
- The project will provide free training to visually impaired people in use of the latest Ray‑Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 2) artificial intelligence glasses to improve their access, mobility and quality of life.
- The project activities include a Focus Day event each year at Community House where local service providers and low vision equipment suppliers will attend to make the visually impaired people aware of the services and equipment available for their health and wellbeing.
- The project includes an annual Christmas Party each year in the month of December for the visually impaired people, their carers and family members.
